May 4 at 10:00 am PDT | Redefining, Renewing, Remembering: The New Indigenous Narrative
Today's Indigenous leaders and artists are experiencing much-needed representation in industries that have often overlooked and excluded them. For too long, negative and misleading stereotypes have been portrayed on screen and in various media, with few Indigenous role models to offer inspiration to younger generations. How do Indigenous Americans commemorate and honor their forebears who suffered injustices in the past, acknowledge the issues of today, and tell a new story to coming generations? Our panel of Indigenous talent and thought-leaders will share how they are building a new narrative for themselves, their community, and the wider audience.
