Beth Lewin Dean | LeadersLink Capstone

Established in 2020, the FasterCures LeadersLink Program is a capacity-building program to support the personal development of an emerging cadre of leaders of nonprofit organizations that fund or conduct biomedical research. LeadersLink focuses on building participants’ leadership skills and professional network and addressing their top priorities through mentorship, a capstone project, a series of convenings, virtual collaboration, and access to Milken Institute events and networks.

“I was interested in participating in this cycle of the LeadersLink program, because we've had many conversations within the epilepsy community about the promise of patient data.”

Beth Lewin Dean is the CEO of CURE Epilepsy. Beth brings 17 years of extensive experience within the epilepsy field to CURE Epilepsy driven by a strong passion for the needs, aspirations, and hopes of those impacted by epilepsy and their loved ones. As part of her capstone project, Dean aimed to raise awareness and drive research for a rare form of epilepsy, Jeavons syndrome, through establishing a data set for this patient community. With this objective in mind, Dean has decided CURE Epilepsy will partner with Citizen and Rare X to collect data for the Jeavons patient community. They are prepared to start data collection in the first half of 2024.
