About Pediatrics

Good health in the early years means children can grow into healthy, thriving adults. This is why any condition, mental or physical, that negatively affects a child's health is distressing for an entire family. A child’s ever-changing anatomy and physiology can make it challenging to identify which changes are normal and which aren’t. This is compounded by their vulnerability and lack of ability to articulate symptoms or advocate for help. These factors can make diagnosis and treatment even more difficult to access.

Firsthand experiences of the distress of childhood illnesses are often what lead donors to pediatric biomedical philanthropy. These experiences can be the motivator that drives long-term, positive change in a health research community and puts patient perspectives into the search for progress.

Leveraging our pediatric research and policy landscape expertise, the Center for Strategic Philanthropy’s biomedical philanthropy advisors navigate multi-layered, multi-faceted research fields, and guide donors toward recommendations that lead to effective, evidence-based care.
